Development of Innovative Power Flow Controller-compatible RTCA Decision Support Tools for Enhancing Control Centre Operations

This paper describes the development of a decision support tool that will allow for coordinated control anddispatch of several PFC devices. The development of this tool constitutes significant advancements in two main areas:Situational Awareness and PFC Optimization. With faster and wider adoption of PFC technology, advanced real-timedecision support tools are able to assist in higher power system situational awareness and control. Together, this willresult in more robust, reliable, and resilient transmission system operation.
